An Update on ATO Correspondence

There has been a big push from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) toward paperless communication over the last 12 months and unfortunately, their implementation of these changes has been less than perfect. In light of this, FMA Partners have recently implemented a new system to assist with handling client correspondence from the ATO.

What are the benefits?

  • ATO correspondence will be promptly reviewed for your action regardless of your communication preferences;

  • Tax File Numbers will be redacted for your privacy; and

  • Quicker access to ATO correspondence to allow further time to prepare or action.

To centralise this process, after being reviewed by your dedicated client manager, most correspondence will now be sent from our Senior Administration Assistant, Deepika Kothari. For those of you who have not yet been contacted by Deepika, we have included an introduction below.

Client's who still prefer to receive correspondence by post will continue to receive the paper version directly from the ATO in addition to the electronic copy sent by FMA until further changes are made by the ATO to remove paper correspondence completely.

It is important that you notify FMA Partners of any changes to your contact details or address as soon as possible to ensure correspondence continues to be delivered correctly.

As always should you have any queries regarding the process, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly on 02 9540 688 or via email at info@fmapartners.com.au
